Small press-published authors have to grasp that the only way they are going to sell books is to make their name known to readers. Many, sad to say, don't. They complain they can't afford to attend conventions, but refuse to look at the vast number of opportunities for making online acquaintances.

So, the "no one buys books by unknown authors" is really a catch-22 as often as not, and it's not something a small publisher can do anything about. Writers need to understand that getting published isn't like it happens in the movies and on TV. Those mega-bestselling authors whose names are now household words worked their butts off to get that way.

My experience is that readers are always on the lookout for new talent, which is why I counsel my people to always have at least one or two copies of their book(s) with them whenever they leave the house. A missed opportunity is a sale not made.

Just got my Countdown to Action through my order with Previews. Definitely looking forward to reading it and learn the pre-history to the Thunderbirds before they became the characters we know and love. I have every intention of getting the other volumes, especially those with Virgil and TB2 :)

Best of luck with the sales!
